FAQS

How can Dr Bilbrey assist with improving my mood and sense of meaning/purpose?

We will work together on helping you achieve balance, wellness and feel a greater sense of hope and satisfaction with your life. As part of the comprehensive evaluation process, your past psychiatric history, complete medical history and psychosocial history will be reviewed. We will also review your daily nutrition and discuss potential lifestyle modifications that may improve your overall sense of balance/health.

Which type of psychotherapy is right for me?

There are different modalities of therapy including psychodynamic , cognitive behavioral therapy , mindfulness and others. Dr Bilbrey uses a combination of these therapies and she also combines medication if needed.

Does Dr Bilbrey see pregnant and post partum patients?

Yes , Dr Bilbrey has extensive experience and interest in treating women with mood and anxiety concerns in pregnancy and postpartum. She can discuss in the initial consultation if this private practice is the correct level of care, however, because for women with more significant mood issues a higher level of care beyond that of private practice would be recommended. Dr Bilbrey does not provide urgent/emergent care, however, and you should go to nearest emergency room or call 911 or suicide hotline if you are in an emergency.

My hormones, sleep, and mood seem off, I just want to feel back to myself again. Is there hope?

There is always hope! Change is an inevitable part of life, but we can work together to discover what may be contributing .There are many medical conditions and other contributing factors that could present with what seems like psychiatric symptoms. Dr. Bilbrey is happy to provide recommendations to your primary care providers which often will include a complete laboratory work up for comprehensive evaluation if this hasn’t yet been done. We will work together with your medical team to determine etiology of your concerns.
